Happy Birth Day

There is no doubt about it. There will be a new baby today!!! By today I mean any minute. I sorta don't believe that I'm righting this BLOG. Shannon is pushing right now.

Here's the run down.

10:45 pm Shannon and Abe are watching Battlestar Galactica.
11:35 pm Shannon says I think my water broke. But there are no contractions. We call our midwife Mary Jackson.
12:00 pm I fall asleep.
2:30 am I wake up and Shannon is in the fetal position with mild contractions.
3:30 am Strong Contractions every 2 minutes lasting for 50 -60 seconds.
We call Sarah D. and Mary J.
4:30 am The midwives arrive. Thank you Lord Jesus because my wife has turned into a primal animal in heavy labor.
5:00 am Shannon is at 3 cm
7:00 am Shannon is at 5+ cm I am praying for her. She is having a fast and very intense labor. Turns out she's not a moaner or a screamer but a primal grunter.
8:15 am Shannon hits 10 cm. She starts pushing and it's way way way easier on her. (Well she might have something different to say.

    Fernie - You are almost there!!! Your baby is on the way. Give him his name and call him out into your arms. This is your story and it is an amazing one... so much love and strength to all three of you!!! Ren

    Grandfather update at 1:15 PM May 4: Shannon (Fern) is very happy and looking good; Abe (New Dad) is home right now eating, eating, eating; Baby No Name is doing exceptionally well;
    Grandmother Claire and Grandfather Duff are doing well; Baby No Name may have curly hair, hard to tell at this early date; Grandmother Elaine and Grandfather Red are doing very well; Santa Barbara is warm, blue skies; What A Day!!

    awwww! I love the one of baby nuzzling on momma... precious! I love that you were watching Battlestar Galactica and thanks for including that- I was actually wondering for a second what you guys were watching. All the burner babes are thinking of you!
